I first went to Flux for a beginners jewellery class back in 2010 and after the first class I was hooked. The space is fantastic, incredibly well equipped and walking distance from my house! The teaching staff have always been friendly, patient, kind, flattering of my (sometimes dodgy!) creations and encouraging in the extreme. I’ve learned a wide range of silver-smithing techniques having known NOTHING before I started. I’ve built my confidence and made some really special pieces for friends, family and myself. Making jewellery on a teeny scale can be like meditation – a chance to take time out from the week to concentrate on making something beautiful. I returned after a break to have a baby and will be back again after the second is a bit older – I know I’ll be welcomed back like an old friend. Vicky has created a unique and special place for anyone with an interest to learn and I’m lucky to have it on my doorstep.
