Weekday Short Course in Jewellery (last ran 25 – 26 April 2013)

Design and Make a Pendant with a Stone  PS04  The course aims to introduce and develop the practical skills we use for working precious materials in contemporary jewellery making. First experimenting with texturing and other sheet metal techniques you will then design a pendant, also incorporating a semi-precious stone of your choice. You will then learn how to make a setting for the stone and you will complete the piece with a bail or a jump ring to attach it to a piece of leather.

Techniques include: texturing of metals; drilling, piercing and filing metal; silver soldering; making a rub-over bezel, setting your stone and polishing.
