Course Details: Links and Linkages C15. Experiment with new ways to make chains, and explore how to make rivets, links and screws to join elements together in your jewellery designs. Design and make your own piece of jewellery that uses some form of connectivity. 

Thursday Evenings, 6-9pm

The course is presented in 2 projects that develop technical skills while also encouraging experimentation and design development.

  • Project 1 – experimenting with connective systems that allow movement in jewellery: links, rivets, screw – threads
  • Project 2 – design and make an item of jewellery incorporates movement

By the end of the course you will know how to make a series of links that can work together to allow movement in your jewellery designs, rivet two or more elements together, cut a screw and thread to join 2 or more elements together, use these methods of connectivity to add movement as a feature in your jewellery designs, and you will have designed and made a moving and unique piece of jewellery.

Materials Fee: £15 to cover the cost of all non precious materials and consumables, payable on the first day of your course
