Course Description: Exploring New Materials – Thermo-chromic Film. A15 Explore ways to incorporate thermo-cromic film into your jewellery designs to create jewellery that changes colour according to temperature. Make your own mood pendant or ring.
Tue Mornings, 10am – 1pm
The course is presented in 2 projects that develop technical skills while also encouraging experimentation and design development.
- Project 1 – Design and make a mood pendant using thermo-chromic film and a watch glass.
- Project 2 – Design and make a ring that uses thermo-chromic film.
By the end of this course you will know how to design an item of jewellery that responds to temperature, and you will have designed and made 2 pieces of colour-changing jewellery.
Materials Fee: £15 to cover the cost of all non precious materials and consumables, payable on the first day of your course
