-Experiment with new ways to make chains, and explore how to make rivets, links and screws to join elements together in your jewellery designs.Add creative chain making to your repertoire of techniques. Design and make your own piece of jewellery that uses some form of connectivity.
- Project 1 – design and make a series of units that can be linked together to make a chain.
- Project 2 – experimenting with alternative connective systems that allow movement in jewellery: rivets, screw – threads.
- Project 3 – design and make an item of jewellery incorporates movement.
By the end of this course you will know how to:
Make a series of links that can work together to allow movement in your jewellery designs
Rivet 2 or more elements together
Cut a screw and thread to join 2 or more elements together
Use these methods of connectivity to add movement as a feature in your jewellery designs
And you will have designed and made your own chain and a second piece of jewellery that incorporates movement.
