We’re still running all our listed jewellery courses here at Flux, and we welcome all people wishing to join us to explore and develop jewellery making skills.
However we’re sorry to say that we have needed to take a temporary break in our working relationship with Sals. All courses are available to book online, at our standard rates, but for the next 12 months we are not able to offer our usual discounts to Southwark residents.
Both we and SALS are sad to implement this short term change, and we fully expect to be able to practice together again in September 2020.

Since 2009, Flux Jewellery School is delighted to have partnered with Southwark Adult Learning Services (SALS) to provide discounted courses for people in Southwark.
In conjunction with SALS, we have developed a a range of jewellery courses and workshops at a special subsidised rate, so everyone in our local community can get involved.
Whether you are a jeweller looking for professional skills development, or a complete novice looking to explore your creativity, we have something for everyone to enjoy.
We run 2 day courses for adults, and if you want to explore creative possibilities with your child we also have some Family Workshops on offer which are absolutely FREE!
*Southwark provide this subsidy for residents to attend 1 course each per academic year, so please choose the one that you like the sound of most!
Not a Southwark Resident?
If you don’t live in the Borough of Southwark you can still join these courses. Although you won’t receive the same subsidy, you do by default receive a discount on the cost of your course.
More about our Southwark Courses
Southwark Family Workshops : We provide a supportive environment where families / children and their carers can actively engage with creative and craft processes in the professional environment of an artist studio. Projects are tailored to suit children and adults having no prior experience, with initial focus on free experimentation with material and technique. Students then put their newfound experiences into producing a final piece of jewellery or mini – sculpture.
These workshops are FREE* for Southwark residents. Each child must be accompanied by a participating adult.

Southwark Jewellery Courses for Adults
Weekday courses: Our one and two day courses are ideal for adults with time to play during normal working hours. They are tailored to fit within the school run… So they suit parents and carers who are looking to explore new ideas and develop skills. Southwark Residents get a fee discount of up to 100% 🙂 depending on the course you choose, and according to your circumstances.
Weekend courses: We have a range of courses for beginners and intermediate students running throughout the year. These courses aim to provide access to our services for local residents who cannot get to our weekday programme. Southwark residents get a discount of between 55% and 80%, depending on circumstances.
Eligibilty :
- Southwark residents are able to attend one course each academic year at Flux Studios.
- Southwark residents having already signed up for our standard programme can join a Southwark course of their choice for FREE
- Proof of UK residency will be required on registration when you come to Flux Studios for your course. (passport number, National Insurance number)
- Concessionary rates apply to anyone receiving a pension or benefits or tax credits.
- *FREE! places require a refundable deposit when booked online. Deposits are returned via paypal after completion of the course.
