DESCRIPTION:Beginners jewellery making course in stone setting -  design and make a charm and a silver ring\, set with a stone. (Wednesday\, Eve)\n Book Now\n- Through a series of fun set projects you will learn the basics of jewellery making\, with the additional focus of basic stone setting techniques. You will design and make a stone set silver charm\, with a semi precious stone of your choice. Then you will have the opportunity to further extend these beginners jewellery making skills to design and make a silver ring\, also with a stone.\nIs this course for me?\nThis course is designed as a beginners jewellery making introduction. As such it requires no previous experience in jewellery making. It's presented in short  projects that introduce you to all the core jewellery making techniques\, also introducing stone setting as a means to add colour and vibrance to your jewellery designs.\n\nFor those having completed other beginner courses at Flux jewellery school we build on skills you have already gained to improve skills and to add new techniques that broaden possibilities for your designs.\n\nCourse Dates: 18 April-- 27 June \n\nHalf term week 28 May – 1 June\n\n \tProject 1 – experiment with textures and piercing techniques\n\n\n \tProject 2 – Design and Make a Stone Set Silver Charm\n \tExtension Project - design and make a silver ring; set a stone on your ring. \n\nBy the end of this course you will know how to cut\, file and polish metals like copper and silver. You will have samples which show a range of texturing and shaping techniques and you will have gained the fundamentals of stone setting.\n\nDuring the course you will also learn how to  permanently join 2 or more elements together using traditional silver soldering techniques\, make a rub-over setting for a stone\,  set the stone\, use wire to make jump rings and other types of attachments for jewellery - and you will have designed and made a charm set with a stone.\n Book Now\nCourse Tutor:Becky Dockree  Emma McGichrist\nMax student numbers: 12 students with 2 tutors. \nCourse Dates: 24 April - 3 July 2019. \n\nClass Times: Wednesday evenings\, 6.15pm - 9.15pm\n\nCourse Fee:  Standard fee £260 / *Concessions £235\n*f you are on a low wage\, or in receipt of tax credits or other benefit you qualify for the Flux concessionary rate.
