SUMMARY:Design and Make a Box-Form Cocktail Ring  (and improve your soldering skills) (C33)
DESCRIPTION:Learn how to make large\, hollow pieces of jewellery from sheet metal. Design and make your own cocktail ring using the box-form technique\, and improve your soldering skills along the way!\nBook Now\n- With eyes firmly on the cocktail ring outcome\, this course also packs a technical punch. Once you understand the principle of the box-form technique for ring making\, you will understand that you can afford to go wild and large with your designs. \n\nSince you are working with sheet to construct your design\, the end result is both light and robust. This makes it a cost effective way to make a statement\, and also the design principles can be transferred to pendants\, bangles and other jewellery objects.\n\nFor this course we have designed 3 projects that embed technical and design development skills\, which lead to the grand-finale cocktail ring.\n\nYou also get a side benefit\, in that you'll need to solder lots of seams\, so your technical skills will gain a super-boost in the process!\nProject 1 – make a hollow ring from sheet metal\, using 2 contrasting metals\nProject 2 – experimenting with forming techniques for 3D impact\nProject 3– design and make a silver cocktail ring\n\nWhat will I learn?\nYou will know how to make large forms from sheet that are also light and wearable. You'll also have a good understanding of the constraints of the processes.
