Casting Techniques for Jewellery. DC07 This is an exciting opportunity to experiment with a variety of approaches to casting, exploring cuttlefish casting, delft sand casting, plywood and silicone mould making. Using pewter as our metal for casting we will also look at ways to incorporate other materials into the cast.

Techniques include: Cuttlefish casting, delft sand casting, acrylic / ply method of casting, silicon mould making working with resistant materials to make prototypes for mould making.It is anticipated that you will produce a range of progressive test pieces that could form the basis of a charm necklace or bracelet.

The course fee: Covers the use of all non-precious materials. Fair usage applies. The metal we’ll be using for casting is pewter . You may also bring your own precious materials to work with, and if you would like to have your work hallmarked with the Flux Studios hallmark this can also be arranged.
