Weekday Short Course in Jewellery 10 – 11 July 2014

Course Details: Textures on Metal. TF06 The course aims to introduce ways to texture, shape and form metal to create original jewellery pieces. We begin the course with experimentation; punch letters, imprint leaves or feathers onto the surface of copper, use hammers to create interesting patterns. We will use forging techniques, hammers and stakes to change the shape and form of metal wire and sheet. We will also focus on how we  can apply these techniques to create wearable and original jewellery items. You’ll then make your own pair of items using your own tests to inform your designs. We will also focus on cleaning, polishing and finishing methods for you to complete your original designs.
